Here's a great quote from a book, "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman.

"You cannot study magic. You can not learn it. You must ingest it. Digest it. You must merge with it. And it with you.

When a Magician casts a spell, he does not first mentally review the Major, Minor Tertiary, and Quaternary Circumstances. He does not search his soul to determine the phase of the moon and the nearest body of water, and the last time he wiped his ass. When he wishes to cast a spell he simply ...

There Is Magick

“There is magic in this world if you want the world to be magical. If you want life to be special, it will be. No one wants to be bored or consumed by ordinary drudgery. But what happens, all too often, is that when magic is presented to us, we don’t believe it because we don’t trust ourselves. We don’t realize what can really be accomplished....

Dark Moon

The hour of the dark moon draws near;
I hear the invoking words,
hear and appear

Angels Unawares

who have their homes on Olympos
created the golden generation of mortal people
These lived in Kronos' time when he
was the king in heaven.
They lived as if they were gods,
and their hearts free from all sorrow,...

To Autumn

O Autumn. Laden with fruit, and stained

With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit

Beneath my shady roof, there thou may’st rest,

And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe...

Ode to Hecate

Oh nether and nocturnal, and infernal
Goddess of dark,
Quiet and frightful one
O you who have your meal amid the graves
Night,
Darkness,
Broad Chaos
Necessity
Hard to escape are you.

Be Like The Moon

"be like the moon. the moon will never lie to anyone. no one hates the moon or wants to kill it. the moon does not take anti-depressants and never gets sent to prison. the moon never shot a guy in the face and ran away. the moon has been around a long time and has never tried to rip anyone off. the moon does not care who you want to touch or what color you are. the moon treats everyone the same....

Defeated by Love

The sky was lit

by the splendor of the moon

So powerful

I fell to the ground

Your love

has made me sure

I am ready to forsake

this worldly life

and surrender to the magnificence

of your Being

The Study of Magic

The study of magic is not a science, it is not an art, and it is not a religion. Magic is a craft. When we do magic, we do not wish and we don't pray. We rely upon our will and our knowledge and our skill to make a specific change to the world.

Trick or treat!

Here we have a complation of the longest list of folkloric supernatural creatures:

"What a happiness this must have been seventy or eighty years ago and upwards, to those chosen few who had the good luck to be born on the eve of this festival of all festivals; when the whole earth was so overrun with ghosts, boggles, bloody-bones, spirits, demons, ignis fatui, brownies, bugbears, black dogs, specters, shellycoats, scarecrows, witches, wizards ...
