Today, April 23, is St George's day. The patron saint of England, St. George is credited with having slain a fearsome dragon to save the life of a virgin. However, the Dragon means different things to different peoples. In some medieval traditions it is linked with the devil or Satan, hence the carvings and windows depicting St George, or sometimes St Michael, slaying one....
