I am currently in the process of migrating the content shared here to a series of new websites hosted at

As you explore this site, you may find links to a "page not found" instead of something cool and magickal. For this I apologize. I am very working hard behind the scenes to restore those pages along with a link to their homes on my new website where they can be viewed in full.

An Oak Leaf Hat

On June 10, the Oak Moon begins. The Oak King, the Green Man, and the Lord of the Forest Cernunnos) were probably aspects of one deity. To honor this god of Nature, children (and adults) can make and wear an oak leaf hat.

Collect a number of large oak leaves. Using either short pieces of tender twigs or toothpicks, begin by pinning two leaves together in two different places. Place the first twig near the stem and the other near the lobe. Arrange the leaves so they meet at the top. Continue adding and pinning the leaves together. Shape to the head, being careful not to make the hat too flat.

These hats remind me of the woodland faeries one sees peeking from behind trees.
