Asking For A Blessing

The last day of the month is the sacred day of the triple goddess of crossroads and the patroness of Witches, Hecate. Hecate had many names and titles: Hecate Trevia, “of the three ways”; Hecate Phosphoros, “the light bringer”; Hecate Nykterian “of the night”; and Hecate Basileia, “Hecate Queen.” On this night of the waning Moon we have a perfect opportunity to work with this goddess and ask for her blessing to illuminate our darkest times, and grant us her protection.

Hecate, goddess of the crossroads, hear my cry,
Protect and guard me under your midnight sky.
Hecate Phosphoros “she who brings the light,”
Hecate Trevia bless me with your wisdom tonight.

Making Your Own Magic

crystal ball waterhouse

Life isn't always easy... and most of the people feeling the "pain" are desperate for anyone to help. This usually means they want someone to "fix it" for them by casting a spell for them. They don't BELIEVE that Magick inside them exists... and/or they don't BELIEVE they can use it to change their lives.

It sounds corny, but it's true. You've got to BELIEVE in yourself and the Magick energy you were born with in order to bring miracles into your life... and transform your situation into one you've always dreamed about.

But you can't just go to some online spell caster, or have someone else say a chant, light some candles, and have everything change.

YOU'VE got to do it... it's the ONLY way. And it is VERY easy, and things can change EXTREMELY quickly. But you've got to believe in yourself and the power your Magick energy has to bring miracles into you life.

Nourishing One's Spirit

Tools and Ingredients:

  • Any clean container into which you can pour milk: a glass, a bowl, a coffee cup, a lovely chalice, even a jar will do, as long as you can drink from it.
  • Milk. (If you are allergic to milk, you can use soy milk, coconut milk, or any nourishing drink that appeals to you.)

Have your tools and ingredients in front of you.
Now, as respectfully as possible, pour a cup of milk, say:

In the Cup is the Mother's milk.
What is in Her milk?

Think about what the Great mother's milk would have in it: Her milk has what you need to nourish your spirit. Would Her milk contain nurturance? Abundance, beauty, inspiration? What things do you need to feed your soul? Think about it for a moment.

Drink from the Cup, drinking half the milk.
As you drink from the Cup, imagine that those nourishing things are in fact in that milk. That you are drinking them in with the milk.

Now say:
In the Mother's milk is nourishment for my soul.

Drain the Cup.
Now tell yourself, proclaim it, say with authority:

I will drink from Her daily;

while every breath we take is imperfect,
every breath we take is both good and divine.

The Mother opens my eyes to all truths I need see,
truth's both harsh and sweet.
She heals the damage in my soul,
and gives me faith in the goodness of the days ahead.

This is the truth I have spoken and thus it is and will be.

Keeping Bad Luck Away

If you feel bad luck keeps finding you, here is what to do:

  1. Get some sea salt. (Sea salt is best, but if you can't find is, you can use table or even rock salt)
  2. Kneel down outside in front of your front door holding the salt.
  3. Get a clear vision of the very specific problem you are having in your mind.
  4. Once your problem is very clearly in your mind, sprinkle the salt in the shape of a cross right in front of the door.

It's as simple as that, and it works like a charm!

Why the shape of a cross? Not for any specific religious purpose... but because it derives from pre-Christian metaphysical geometry, so that the salt's protective capacities are radiated in all directions...

Bee Magic

If a bee enters your home, it's a sign that you will soon have a visitor. If you kill the bee, you will have bad luck, or the visitor will be unpleasant.

A bee landing on someone's hand is believed to foretell money to come, while if the bee settles on someone's head it means that person will rise to greatness.

Bees were once considered to deliberately sting those who swore in front of them, and also to attack an adulterer or unchaste person.

It was once held to be a sure sign that a girl was a virgin if she could walk through a swarm of bees without being stung.

An old country tradition states that bees should not be purchased for money, as bought bees will never prosper.

Bee-stings were once thought to prevent rheumatism, and in some places a bee-sting was also thought to cure it.
