To Entice Love

This spell can be used to attract love or to draw a lover closer. It should be begun on the night of a new moon.

Take a salt shaker and papper shaker, and designate one the female and the other the male. Then take a piece of pink ribbon, and tie the female object to one end and the male object to the other, leaving about a foot of ribbon between them.

Every morning, untie the ribbon, move the objects a little closer together, and retie the knots.

Eventually the salt and pepper shakers will touch. Leave them bound together for seven days before untying them. By this time, love should have entered your life or your current partner should have drawn closer.

The Magic Formula

This is a series of simple exercises which, if done before spell work, will greatly enhance the effectiveness of your magick.

  1. Breathing

Close your eyes, then take four deep breaths. Our breath is one of our closest links to nature and one of the primary ways we take in the world. When our breathing is relaxed and natural, we come closer to nature and to God.

With four more deep breaths, relax your belly and throat. It is easy breathe fully, deeply and naturally if we get out of our own way. So, focus on relaxing, this allows your body to take over, and your body knows how to breathe.

  2. Cleansing

Bathe if it's appropriate. It that's not possible, you can at the very least, wash your face and your hands. Comb your hair. Do what feels comfortable to get your physical self in order.

Clear the area in which you will be working. Any tools, candles, stones, or objects should be lovingly cleaned and cleared in whatever way you feel is best. Do a cleansing of anything inside yourself that might make you less than you could be.

Get comfortable, close your eyes and look for any and all inner blocks that might interfere with things like focus, pleasure, spirituality, effectiveness, intuition, power, and a relaxed state. One way to release these blocks would be to imagine that you are holding them in palm of your hand, (if there are a lot of them, it might require 2 hands) and then gently whisk them away by tossing them in the trash, dropping them into the toilet and flushing it, blowing them out the window, or whatever action appeals to you in the moment. (Be sure to wash your hands afterwards.)

  3. Invocation and devocation

An invocation means to invite the God and/or the Goddess to be with you. A simple heartfelt prayer, such as "Please be with me and help, guide, and watch over me," will be fine.

The important second half of invocation is devocation, which means saying good-bye and thank you to the powers that assisted you. The Gods are always with us, but we say good-bye because we are respectfully releasing a certain way of communicating with them.

Spell To Communicate With an Absent Partner

First, light a pink candle. Now, holding a photo that clearly shows your partner's face, look into his or her eyes. You can look deeper into the eyes and beyond, into the mind, by placing a crystal ball or a magnifying glass on top of the image.

magnifyingGlass

Speak directly to the photo or through the object you have chosen to magnify with it. The eyes, mouth, and facial features in the image will move in such a way that it appears you are speaking directly, face to face, to the person you're trying to contact. At this point you have made the connection.

Tell the person what it is you want, or ask a question. The response will come to you telepathically.

Blow out the candle and wave the photo through its smoke from north to south and from west to east. Return the photo to where you normally keep it.

Blood Bone and Ancestors

In this exercise you will meditate on your skin, muscles, bones, and blood. You'll discover that your blood runs not only in your veins, but also flows back in time to its ancestral source. Thus you can find or better determine your spiritual and magical roots, the exploraiton of which will be part of your own unique brand of magickal initiation.

Read through the exercise to get a good idea of how it flows, and then begin.

blood

Get comfortable, quiet, and centered. Breathe deeply and relax your body. When you are fully relaxed, begin the meditation by thinking about your skin. Focus on how it feels. Maybe you have an awareness of how your clothing feels in the places where it touches your skin. It is through your skin that you interact with all things....

Think about this for a few minutes... It is through your skin that you interact with the world.

Now, think about how it is that your skin keeps you separate from all things as well. It contains you. Feel yourself as a being who is separate... you are quiet you are contained within yourself, and in that quiet containment you are relaxed, confident, and your spirit is free from intrusion and fear.

Now, feel your muscles and bones. One way to do this is to visualize them under your skin. Or you might move your body - the smallest possible amount - as you picture your bones solid, dense, and providing a frame, which, in your imagination, your muscles maneuver, vividly filled with vitality.

Feel your blood. One way to do this is to imagine it running in your veins. Don't worry if you can't really "feel" it, simply imagine that you are feeling it and that will be sufficient.

What does your blood tell you? Anything? Be open: see if you hear anything or if a thought pops into your mind or you get a sense of some feeling stirring in your body or idea peeking at you in your thoughts.

Say:

My blood is of a river,
my blood flows through the dark void of time and space,
back to its source.
What is its source?
Where did it come from?
What did my blood do at that time,
in that place?

Again, visualize the blood running in your veins... imagine it flows past you like a stream or brook, not in the sense it would if you were injured but in a miraculous, mystical pilgrimage... Imagine your blood flowing through a safe, comforting darkness... You are going to follow that flow as it moves to it's source...

Now your blood arrives at its source. Perhaps you will suddenly get a picture of, or sense, an ancient people. You might encounter anything, the possibilities of what happens in this step are endless... you might encounter anything from a star in the sky to a specific race of people or species of animals or to a plant or even a mythical beast. You might not see anything. You might instead hear, smell, or simplky get a sense of your ancestral source; modes of psychic perceptions are endless, and no one is better than another. An idea, word, or phrase that comes to mind might be your psychic perception even if it makes no sense right away.

Note whatever it is that might be happening at that far-off time and place. Are you doing anything? Are your ancestore? Are there words or sounds? Do you have any feelings or impressions?

Are you given any gifts?

Say to your ancestors, even if you feel that you have experienced nothing in this voyage, "I thank you for this visit."

Imagine, picture, somehow be aware of your blood traveling a long distance back through time and space... this is a dark, safe, and comfortable journey, your blood flows through this space carrying any gifts you've gained.

Now, be aware of your blood flowing all the way back to you, arriving with its new gifts. Feel your blood flowing through your body, replete with its new gifts and power.

Feel your skin... Feel how it interacts with your clothes... feel how it interacts with the seat under you... feel how it interacts with the air.

Moonlight.

Douse the lights, douse even the candle
Speak to her gently; she's been shunned
so long, she runs away.
Suggest, don't expect
Invite
Wait

Let being fill up the space
of doing
So that what you're doing
is being.

Let the message emerge
from the sea of understanding
like a mermaid singing her seduction,
Think fishes, flying through dark waters,
Think night, moonlit seas, and
no moonlight at all.

Think water. Think depths, dampness.
Think subtle. Think subtler.
Think feelings.

Your wis-dame, your wisdom,
is an archivist. She knows what happened.
Just ask.

She isn't afraid, she's been here before.
Another kind of clarity, silvery, not stark, emerges.
Your wis-dame is your oldest ally,
your mother-wit.

Without her you are less than half yourself
with her you are whole and ready.
Like a dolphin she is beside you
when you are goalless
and seeking only to satisfy your higher yearning.

Be attracted, addicted to life
and life's deeper demands.
Love, don't curse, the blind alleys
the red lights and lost luggage.

Without guessing there's no game.
Not "no pain no gain"
but "no love no gain"

You mother-wit
your wise dame

The sage speaks in patterns and pictures,
a scatter tongue. Catch as you can
her butterfly dust

But if you treasure her treasure
be loyal,
For eons she has been wooed in the dark
and spurned in the sun.
If she was with you then
She's with you now.

Ask
Ask
and then, of course,
listen.

Ritual for Common Sense and Inspiration

You will need paper, pencil (a pen won't do), and a nice big eraser. A white vanilla scented candle.

Faber-Castell_pencil_and_eraser

Step 1: Light the candle, and then think of one thing in yourself that keeps you from trusting or maybe even hearing your inner voice, your own opinions, your own hopes and dreams.

Step 2: With your pencil, write a description of your block on the piece of white paper.

Step 3: Think about this block for a while, and all the ways in which your life would be improved if it could only be erased.

Step 4: Pick up the eraser, and begin to erase what you wrote on the paper. As you are erasing, say the following prayer three times:

Lady, cleanse me of this block.
Help me know through and through that:
the earth has wisdom, my body has wisdom,
a tree has wisdom, my heart has wisdom,
a bird has wisdom, my mind has wisdom,
Lady, cleanse me of this block.

Help me realize:
an ocean holds knowledge, just so does my mind
a fox has wiles, just so am I wily;
a child knows God, and so do I.
Help me find my innate wisdom and knowledge.

Lady, cleanse me of this block.
Help me know of these things:
common sense feeds the soul;
lyrical mysticism and visionary hope
belong in the everyday world;
I can grow and stretch a bit spiritually, every day.

Step 5: If any smudges or pencil marks remain on the paper, if any trace of the original writing can still be seen, take the pencil now and turn them into stars, spirals, flowers, and suns. When there is no trace left of what you originally wrote, the ritual is complete. Snuff the candle and say:

Thank you Goddess.

Energy Restoration Potion

Searing hot temperatures have a way of sapping the energy right out from one’s body. The following energy potion can help replace this lost energy. Brew pinches of mint and ginseng herbs along with a green tea bag. Steep for three minutes. Strain and serve over ice with lemon slices for a refreshing tonic.

In addition, you may wish to take Solomon’s seal, Gotu Kola, and myrrh herbal supplement tablets to rev up flagging energy levels. Once restored, seal the energy inside the body by taking a cool shower and rubbing a rosewater and glycerin solution into wet skin. As you do so, visualize the energy vibrating just below the skin’s surface. Carry this vision with you throughout the day. Most importantly, make sure to drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated and functioning at its highest level.
