God Energy

It is an inspired truth, common among most pantheistic and so-called primitive religions of the world, that there is a great primeval intelligence, an energy that gives life and form to every particle of the universe. The archetype gods and goddesses are all part of this great intelligence, each having dominion over a different aspect of life.

Each star and planet is a sentient being, capable of manifesting in human form if necessary, as is each individual feature of the landscape. Each tree, each plant, even the stones on the ground are all given life and awareness through their roles in this great intelligence, as of course is animal life, from the most minute creature, to man himself.

Because all creation is part of this great god energy, everything is worthy of respect, and because all matter is connected through this energy we can tune into and use it through prayer and magic.

Nettle Soup

Wear gloves when picking the nettle leaves! It is best to pick young tender leaves from an unpolluted area and away from roaming dogs. Also, avoid picking any herbs from the roadside because of exhaust fumes. Make sure you wash the leaves well.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lb potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 8 ozs tender nettle leaves
  • 5 and 3/4 cups water
  • Salt and pepper
  • Grated nutmeg
Instructions:
Heat the oil in a large pan and add the oil, onion and potatoes. Cook gently over a low heat until soft but not browned (approx 5 minutes). Add the nettles, cover and cook for another 5 minutes Add water and bring to the boil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the vegetables are cooked Place in a food processor or push through a sieve until smooth. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg, then reheat just before serving.

Your Heart's Desire

You have met someone you desire. According to the Romanies this spell will ensure that he or she responds.

First, gather a fresh rose and two red candles, and find out the time of sunrise the next morning. Just before you go to sleep, place a red candle on each side of the rose.

The next morning at sunrise, take the rose outside or sit by an open window facing east, keeping the rose in front of you. Inhale the perfume and say aloud:

This red rose is for true love.
True love come to me.
Now go back indoors and put the rose in its original position. Light the candles, and imagine love burning in the heart of the one you long for. Keep the candles lit day and night until the rose fades. (If they are extinguished, the incantation will be broken.) When the rose is dead, pinch out the candles, and bury the rose.
